Catharine Riley and Andrew Riley her husband of Huntington County, in the state of Indiana Conveys and Warrants to George W. Chapman of Huntington County in the state of Indiana for the sum of fifteen hundred dollars the following Real Estate in Allen County in the state of Indiana to wit. a part of the section of land granted by the United States to Ann Hackley by Treaty with the Miami Nation of Indians AD 1826 and designated as follows. Beginning at the North corner of a tract of land owned by John (Yesks ?) in 1854 in said records in Said County of Allen running thence South Sixty five degrees and fifteen minutes East nineteen chains & twenty three links to the centre of the State road leading from Fort Wayne to (Seo ?) thence on the line of Said Road north forty Two degrees and forty five minutes East Twenty Two chains and fifty Eight Links to the corner thence north thirty seven degrees thirty minutes West thirty five chains and eight links to a corner on the land of the Saint Joseph River thence down the banks of said River by the meanderings of the River to a point opposite the place of beginning thence south sixty five degrees fifteen inutes East to the exact place of beginning Conlaining one hundred and Ten Acres of land more or less. In testimony whench the said Catharine Reilly and Andrew Reilly have hereunto set their hand and seals this 21st day of November 1855.

This indenture, Witnesseth, that George W. Chapman and Harriet Chapman, his wife, in consideration of the sum of twelve hundred dollars to them paid by Catharine Reilly of Huntington County in the State of Indiana, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, do hereby deed, convey, release and forever quit claim to the said Catharine Reilly her heirs and assigns forever. The following real estate in Huntington County and state of Indiana, and described as follows:

Commencing at the southeast corner of street sixteen on the original plat of the town of Roanoke, in the said Huntington County—thence running east in a line with second street in said town of Roanoke to Commercial Street one chain and twelve links—thence a north east course along Commercial Street to Third Street four chains thence west along Third Street to the northeast corner of Street Number Thirteen, on said original plat of Roanoke—two chains and fifty links thence south along the east line of Lots numbered 13, 14, 15 16 to the place of beginning—three chains and seventy links containing one hundred and twenty six square rods of land, more or less. And being that part of the mill lease (leased by the trustee of Wabash ad Erie Canal to Samuel G. Jones from the first of November 1846 to run thirty years, on which the dwelling house for the use of the mill on said least is situated together with all the privileges and appurtenances to the same belong.

To have and to hold the said Catharine Reilly and her heirs and assigns forever on witness to hereof the said George W. Chapman and Harriet Chapman, his wife who hereby relinquishes her dower in said premises, have herento set their hands and seals this 20th day of November 1855 A.D,

To have and to hold the said lot of ground with the privileges and appurtenances , to him the said Andrew Reiley, his heirs and assigns forever to him and their own, proper use and ( ). And also him the said William Harness, does for himself heirs, Executors and administrators, covenants with the said Andrew Reiley, his heirs and assigns that at, and until the unsealing of these presents, was well ( ) of the premises, as a good and indefensible estate in fee simple, and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner an form as is above written and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever. And furthermore, he the s aid William Harkness, do by these presents find himself and his heirs forever to warrant and defend the above bargainee and grantee premises to him the said Andrew Reiley his heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever. In witness where of I hereunto set my hand and seals the twenty fourth day of May Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and forty nine.
