 | Ancestry.com listing of the military record of Henry Riley The record is somewhat ambiguous, as Henry actually died and was not 'mustered out" on the 8th of January 1862. He actually died of dysentery on 20 December 1862 in Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee.
Military records show Henry's name as Reiley, O'Riley, and Riley. Verification of his death comes from guardianship records for his two children, and the subsequent death of his wife Margaret Stiltz. |

One weekend--during a problematic period when the local "Zootsuiters" were causing trouble in Los Angeles--the base commander canceled all military leave, then ordered the MP's not to arrest anyone violating this command.
