 | Compilation of records-- DAR of Fayette County, Indiana This document, provided by Mrs. L. Brown--Librarian for Fayette County Public Library in Connersville, establishes DAR acceptance that Thomas Patton was buried in the Burk Cemetery, located just a short distance from his farm in Jennings Township. While it was Mrs. Brown's opinion that the cemetery was actually on the original Patton Farm, subsequent data collection through GPS coordinates indicates the burial site is located several hundred feet to the east of the Patton Farm--and even closer to the Daniel Hoover farm, which was acquired in 1821 from Thomas Patton. Published burial records do not show the burial of Thomas; but it is believed to be accurate even though no headstone can be found. Thomas died in 1834--and his burial was one of the oldest known to have occurred on the Burk site. |
