      ◦ A complete record of the Yount Family was published in the Sunday Journal, Dayton, OH October 2, 1934.
      ◦ The key to the genealogy of the North Carolina Younts is an early tax list covering an area corresponding roughly to present-day Randolph County, NC. Some years ago the late William D. Kissiah, while serving as Register of Deeds for Rowan County, NC, located serveral early tax lists, including this one, and had them transcribed. The transcriptions are now filed in the Register of Deeds' office at Salisbury, NC. In 1972 Quaker records, of George Yount, Jr.s family only son John transferred Quaker membership following the move to OHio.
      ◦ Information from Miami Valley Genealogical V.1, Lindsay M. Brien, Troy Historical Society Library 10-19-1983 and newspaper article "Our Forefathers" by Lindsay M. Brien. Lived near the present village of Union, Randolph Twp, Montgomery County, OH. Letter from Marsha Patterson, g grandaughter Lindley Robbins, 1214 So Main, Harrisburg, IL 62946, dated 1-24-85 indicates George Yount Sr. to be father of Elizabeth Yount. Lewis E. Vaugh in publication titled "Wagoner-Yount Odyssey from NC to SC and Points West from Gateway Pr. 1982 shows 3 George Younts in Randolph Co area about 1768. Information also from Mary Lou Spindt, 3957 Parkview Lane, Allison Park, PA 15101-3522, Phone: 412-486-9512, e-mail rsml@@nauticom.net dated 30 April 1999.
      ◦ Identity of George Yount f/o Betty Yount Robbins found in Petition for Partition of Land belonging to George Yount (73 ac of his original land entry). His decendants involved are named in the report of the petition in "Ohio Watchman" (dayton, OH) 3 Sep 1818 on microfilm copy roll #22523 held by OH Hist. Soc. Columbus OH and copied by Donna Sand of Bellingham WA 10-90. Daughters Betty w/o James Robbins dec. and Catherine w/o William Fincher have been omitted from other lists of the children of George and Rosannah Waymire Yount. Matter was to be dealt with at Montgomery CO. Court, Dayton, OH on the first Tuesday of November next (1818).
      ◦ Came to America at about the age of 11 with parents on "Duke of Bedord" arriving 4 Sep 1751. Voyage was lone, and some of the family may have died at sea. Grandparents came in 1731.
      ◦ Family names and dates from "John Rudolph Waymire...as known March 1, 1925" by William M. Reeser.

Court says "This day came George Yount---into open Court and made oath that the purchase money for 50 ac of land was actually paid agreeable to the within Receipt without fraud..." Does this mean George went back to Randloph Co. Is the unreadable word something that means a representative came for him? Is this yet another George Yount?
      ◦ 1793 entry for land recorded in NC Archives Land grant office above son George a chain carrier.

George Yount's name has been crossed out and John Yount, son of put in it's place. Benjamin Williams is witness.
