- Excerpt from a letter from Mary Doyle of Indiana: "William Henry Riley born Sept. 2nd 1877--died July 1st 1926 your Dad's brother. His wife Sarah died before him. All was born in Columbia City Ind." Mary Doyle’s letter indicates William lived in Logansport, Indiana. He may have used the name O'Reilly.

Also, the clerks office in Columbia City, Indiana has r ecord of the marriage. Affiant further states that neither he nor Rosa were previously married. Dated March 24, 189 8. Rosa's name was given as Rosa Riley. Maiden name stated as Rosa Fries. Marriage License issued by Whitley County, in 1868; book 2A: Page 518.

RILEY FUNERAL ON SATURDAY
Funeral Services for William Riley, 43, former Marion man, who was accidentally electrocuted in South Bend Tuesday afternoon, will be held at the St. Paul's church of Marion at 8 o'clock Saturday morning with Father Durham in charge. Burial will be at the St. Paul of the Cross cemetery at Columbia City, where the electrocuted man was born.
The body arrived in marion last night at 5:05, and was taken to the home of a sister, Mrs. J.E. Walters, 622 Wabash avenue. |
