William Vestal Sr. and Elizabeth were married by 9 Sep 1717,when George Pierce & Moses Key were appointed by the Concord Monthly meeting of Quakers to prepare testimony against Elizabeth Vestal. In CONCORD TWP: THE COLONIAL LEGACY, ffrancis Pullin's name (appears as the owner of property, bought 1-26-1715 (with the following notation CCHS.D:G364), which is where, I assume, the record of this deed is located.....the CCHS being the Chester County HIstorical Soc) ffrancis bought the property from Moses Key (who bought it 5-23-1702) and ffrancis sold it to John Farmer 54-25-1720 (this record is CCHS.D:G364) KEY AND ALLIED FAMILIES by Mrs. Julian C. Lane. The J.W. Burke Co., 1931, p. 84. [On Heritage Quest] Moses Key served in the Pennsylvania Assembly from Delaware Co., Penn. from 1723-1724. Futhey and Cope's THE HISTORY OF CHESTER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA These men signed the petition of King George II, asking him to settle the border difficulties between Maryland and Pennsylvania - 1735. Moses Key In a 10 Apr 1736 Deed (G7:359) it is mentioned that the late commissioners of Wm PENN by deed dtd 25 Jul 1712 granted to Moses KEY a tract in Concord containing 120 acres. Moses KEY sold but did not convey 17 acres (part of that 120 acres) to Thomas PIERSON who sold his interest to Francis PULLAN & afterwards Moses KEY at the request of Thomas PEIRSON by deed dtd 26 Jul 1715 conveyed the 17 acres to Francis PULLAN. Francis PULLAN by deed dtd 20 Apr 1721 devised same to his daughter Ann FARMER. Moses made his will 19 2nd month 1746 at Aston, Chester Co., PA. Witnesses were John Bezer, Jane Cummings and Elinor Petters. The will was proved 14 Jun 1748. Moses Key's Will Transcribed by Cheska Callow Wheatley In the Name of God Amen. The Nineteenth day of Second Month call April in the year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred and forty six I Mose Key of Aston in the County of Chester and Province of Pennsilvana Yeoman being weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God therefore calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say principly and first of al I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it and for my body I commend it to the earth to be buried in a christian like and decent manner at the discretion of my Executor nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldy estate whereunto it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form first I give and bequeath to my dearly beloved wife Elizabeth Key all and singular my real and personal estate except what shall be hearupon mentioned to be at her disposal to her and her heirs and assigns forever. And if my son Robert Key survives his mother I do hear by ordain that the rent and property of all and singular of my whole real estate is and shall be allotted for his maintenance during his naturall life I give unto my son William Key twenty shillings. I give unto my son Moses Key all my smith tooles and ten shillings in money. I give to my daughter Letice Vernon ten shillings. I give unto my daughter Elizabeth Morgan ten shillings. I give unto my daughter Rebecka Patten ten shillings. I give and bequeath to my daughter Ann the best feather bed and furniture thereunto belonging and a new chest of doors now called Ann Keys doors with the privileges of my lower room after her mothers decease for her use during the time she lives unmarried and a pacing year old colt and forty pounds to be paid her in one year after my death. I give to my granddaughter Hannah Sharpless five shillings and lastly I do hereby appoint constitute make and ordain my dear and loving wife Elizabeth Key and my son in law Thomas Morgan of the Burrough of Chester to be my sole Executors of this my last Will and Testament and for a gratuity of my love to my son in law Thomas Morgan I give him the said Thomas Morgan five pounds to be paid him after my death and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannull all and every other former testament will and legacies bequests and Executors by me in anyways before this time named called and bequeathed ratified and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written. N.B. Ye words mothers decease for her was interlind on the second line of this side before signing and delivering. Chester June 14th 1748 then personally appeared John Bezer and Jane Cummings and Eleanor Peters the witnesses for the within Will who on their solemn affns did declare ye they were present and saw the Testator therein named sign seal publish pronounce and declare the within writing to be his last Will and Testament and that at the doing thereof he was of sound mind and memory to the best of their understanding.
