  Notes	Dear Ron   The lady Jacky who contacted you about relatives of George Edward JOHNSON and Kathleen telephoned me on Monday morning.    Colin Johnson her father was the eldest son of George and Kathleen, (George being my Uncle) born in 1933.  He joined the Army as a boy cadet at 15 and married a German lady in Cyprus.  He brought her and his first child Jacky to see George and Kathleen in Louth, but for some reason he never came back and the family have always wondered what had happened to him. Both his parents longed to see him once more before they died but this did not happen. Apparently he died in 1998 in Germany.  He had divorced his wife in 1970 and the children remained with their mother. Jacky traced him through the Salvation Army in 1997 and apparently visited him monthly making a trip to Germany each time and was with him when he died.   My cousin Heather Rodgers, with whom I have done alot of the research is Colin's sister and therefore Jacky's aunt.  I knew the family had said they did not waant contact with him, but I telephoned Heather who was really shocked and went weak at the knees.  She said she would have to discuss it with her sister Maureen.  I agreed to telephone Jacky on Monday evening advising her of the above.    On Tuesday morning I called to see Heather whose attitude was really changed - especially as Jacky had said her grand children were unable to do a family tree for school.  She and her sister were really kean to talk to Jacky and exchange information, especially as Jacky had brought 6 cases of Colin's stuff when she left Germany after he died. Mostly personal stuff and photos ect. Jacky made me laugh as I ask her how she got them all on the plane and through customs.  Apparently when she explained they were really sympathetic and waved her through!!!   Thought you might like to know the outcome   Shirley Source: Shirley Johnson Berry ===
