| The original St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church in Columbia City, Indiana. Think back in time and imagine that Rosa and Thomas were leaving the church after their wedding ceremony in 1869--that the family no doubt worked on for may of the preceding weeks. These old steps conjure up wonderful thoughts of youth, happiness and eternal love. |

| Baptisman certification of Mary Matilda Reilley. The Thomas and Rosa Reilley family was very active in the St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church in Columbia City, Indiana. This is Mary's certification of baptism, provided by the priest. Note the spelling of the Reilley name during this period--as it changed often, likely from so many citizens of the time not being able to read and write. Other known spellings include Riley, O'Riley, O'Reiley, Reiley and Ryley. |
