- Both are buried at Rigsby, Lincolnshire. The inscription on the Headstone reads:- "Catherine wife of Jonathan
Johnson of Rigsby who died September 22nd 1871 aged 60 years. Also the above Jonathan Johnson who died
17 February 1876 aged 79 years. Their end was Peace. "
St. James' Church, Rigsby is believed to have been the first church of Alford and Rigsby, most probably Saxon.
The Registrar of St. Fowler of Louth, and was erected at a cost of £685 and replaced the thatched church which was burnt down.
All labourers in the Parish of Rigsby with Ailby contributed a weeks wages.
James dates from 1686. The present building of Ancaster stone dates from 1863, was designed by James
